Effective Presentation Skills
Abstract:
As we have gone very much online, webinars and presentations, whether individual or collaborative, have become commonplace in all professional fields. If you feel you could improve the way you communicate and present your ideas, you cannot miss this session where you will learn how to make effective presentations.
Target audience:
Educators & other professionals presenting ideas and projects at seminars, webinars, lectures, business conferences and meetings at large.
Session objectives: Learners will be able to make effective and persuasive presentations for different purposes.
Syllabus:The session syllabus. Include the major focus for each week and at least one activity or task. You will fill in the details during the training session.

Planning: research the audience and venue, set objectives, establish your main message

Structure: organize, sequence and structure your presentation

Storytelling: use storytelling techniques and principles to develop and deliver your presentation

Introduction to design elements

Following graphic design rules (colour, alignment, whitespace) to enhance the look of presentation visuals

Data visualization: use of charts, tables, infographics and other techniques to display quantitative information visually
Week 4: (February 1 - 7)
Delivery

Delivery: deliver your presentation, taking into account different elements

Articulation, voice, pitch, stress, intonation, facial expressions, gestures, posture, physical appearance, eye contact, paralanguage, proximity, etc.

Fear: managing the fear of speaking in public

Key elements of storytelling: SHARE (SHowing, Authenticity, Relieving, Engaging)
